Find Joy in One Thing (The Everyday Five: Week 2)
When was the last time you felt joy? Not just happiness or a good mood, but unshakeable, real joy?
If you’ve been running on empty or just going through the motions. Because today, we’re talking about how to find joy, not in a perfect life, but in one thing, just one.
Psalm 16:11 reminds us that the greatest joy is being in the Lord’s presence. David writes:
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Here, we see David’s understanding that a life committed to God has benefits that will be received both on this earth and in Heaven when believers are in God’s presence.
The path of life is given to the believer as something to be enjoyed here on earth and extended into eternity in Heaven.
If you are a believer in Christ today, you have a reason to be joyful because God has given you this life as a gift and as a reminder of the eternal life to come. David’s words here conclude Psalm 16 and are his way of thanking God for showing him the way of life that leads to Heaven.
If you are a believer in Jesus, I challenge you to thank Him for showing you the path to eternal life and find joy in the life He has given you today.
