Transform Your Thinking
The mind is a powerful thing. The brain is a three-pound organ that is responsible for the way you think and feel. It is a playground for the devil to begin to control you. It is also a playground for you to get trapped in your negative thoughts and feelings about yourself, preventing you from reaching your potential.
Romans 12:2 reminds us that we, as believers, are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Paul reminds the Romans that they are to live out the inward change that took place when they surrendered their lives to Jesus. Yet, the devil tries every day to fill your mind with doubts and discouragement. It’s one thing he uses to hold you back from believing in the potential God has given you. God, in His Word, shows us what we need to see a transformation in our minds.
It’s so easy to want to ask God, “What is your will for my life?” Yet, we need to ask, “God, what is your will and how can I be a part of it?” To achieve this, we need to transform both our spiritual life and our way of thinking. God calls us to a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ. Once we have that, we need to transform our thinking. Our lives need to reflect that inner, spiritual change. People should see that our lives are no longer conforming to the patterns of the world, as Paul mentioned in Romans 12:2. Conforming to the world and your inner doubts and disbelief is precisely what the devil wants you to do. If he can control your mind, then he can control your thoughts and cause you to doubt the calling God has placed on your life.
If you have surrendered your life to Jesus, then fill your mind with God’s truth by meditating on God’s Word. We cannot forget the importance of Scripture to us. When you hear doubts creep into your mind and you begin to want to quit when life gets tough, you need God’s truth. Where do we find God’s truth? We see it in the Bible. When we try to limit ourselves to what God wants to do, we need to let go of those thoughts and remember that God has good plans for our lives.
Transform your thinking by allowing God’s Word to transform your life.
